I am a student of testing, a drop amongst other drops in the river of testing. Alone I am in a small water cocoon of my knowledge, ego, biases, still yearning to do better. Together, we are the river.
The problem with the word ‘expert’ is that one starts thinking of self as a stone who can influence the drops in this river – the stone which often interacts with the drops with the force of ‘I know it, you don’t’ attitude, causes ripples, causes an impact with the intention of everyone noticing it. It does not often start this way, the baggage of the word often turns into this over time however.
The way I think is that every tester is just a drop in this river, but all drops are not the same, some carry the spirit of the river a little better than others.
दरिया में यूँ तो होते हैं क़तरे ही क़तरे सब
क़तरा वही है जिस में कि दरिया दिखाई दे
Although there are drops and drops of water in a river
A drop is the drop in which one can see the river
