In the first week of October, I visited IIT Chennai to deliver a talk on “Software Security and the Role of Antivirus” as a part of Shaastra 2008, an yearly technology oriented event. Addressing a 300 plus audience on the topic was a great experience. I was accompanied by Apurv Anand, who is a Product Security expert.

Next day, both of us supported Santhosh, a post graduation student in IIT to conduct a workshop on Application Security Issues and Remediation. The workshop focused on some of the key issues related to network security, application security and secure coding.

It was a great overall experience and I look forward to similar opportunities to deliver talks on security and software testing at colleges.
